How AspireHer uses cookies and similar technologies on aspireher.co.uk — and how you stay in control.
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device when you visit it. Similar technologies, such as local storage and tracking scripts, work in much the same way. In this policy we call all of them “cookies”.
Some cookies are essential for a website to work. Others help the website owner understand how the site is used. Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, or PECR) we must ask for your consent before we use any cookie that isn’t essential or exempt.
The short version: we use a small number of essential cookies to keep the site working and secure, and Google Analytics cookies only if you click “Accept”. We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, and we never sell your data.
We group cookies into two types:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
cookieyes-consent | CookieYes (our consent tool) | Remembers your cookie choices so we don’t ask on every page. | 1 year |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | Protects our forms (including the newsletter sign-up) from spam and automated abuse. | 6 months |
wordpress_*, wp-settings-* | WordPress | Only for AspireHer staff who log in to manage the website. Not set for visitors. | Session – 1 year |
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another so we can count visits and see how people use the site. | Up to 13 months |
_ga_00RTF07RWB | Google Analytics | Keeps track of your visit (session) on our site. | Up to 13 months |
Our cookie banner also offers “Functional”, “Performance” and “Advertisement” categories. We don’t currently use any cookies in those categories. If that changes, we’ll update this list first and ask for your consent.
We also use Burst Statistics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that runs on our own website. It is set to cookieless mode: it doesn’t store anything on your device, it uses an anonymous daily code instead of identifying you, and the data stays on our own server — it isn’t shared with anyone else. It also respects your browser’s “Do Not Track” setting.
Some pages link to or use services run by other organisations. They may set their own cookies when you use them, under their own cookie and privacy policies:
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings button below, or the small cookie icon in the corner of every page. Withdrawing consent stops new analytics cookies; to remove ones already set, clear your browser’s cookies.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings:
You can opt out of Google Analytics on every website with Google’s browser add-on. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as our forms, from working.

Review or change what you’ve allowed at any time.
We review this policy whenever we add or remove a tool that uses cookies, and at least once a year. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated.
